About

Maya Kubiak is an independent brand designer and creative director with 10 years of international experience.

Working across branding, visual identity, logo design, print, and digital, Maya develops brands from the initial idea through to their complete visual expression.

Her approach is simple: clarity, character, and attention to detail. Every project begins by understanding the idea behind a brand, then shaping it into a visual identity that feels distinctive, purposeful, and lasting.

Over the past decade, Maya has worked independently with clients across the UK, US, Peru, Poland, South Africa, and Ecuador. A career shaped by travel and freelancing has brought a naturally international perspective to her work, allowing her to collaborate across cultures, industries, and creative disciplines.

From developing a brand from the ground up to refining an existing identity, creating a website, or designing a carefully considered piece of print, the focus remains the same:
Less noise. More meaning.

Maya is available for selected freelance collaborations, brand projects, and creative partnerships.

How I Work

I like to keep things simple, collaborative, and straightforward.

Every project is different, so I don’t follow a rigid formula. I start by understanding you, your business, and the idea behind what you’re trying to communicate. From there, we work together to find a visual direction that feels distinctive, purposeful, and right for you.

My approach is simple: clarity, character, and attention to detail. I like to find the idea behind the design first, then reduce it to what matters — creating work that is considered, useful, and built to last.

01 — Let’s talk

First, I want to hear about your project. What do you do? What are you trying to communicate? What’s working, what isn’t, and what do you want to achieve?
No complicated briefs required — just a conversation. The better I understand the idea behind your business, the better I can translate it visually.

02 — Find the direction

Once I understand the project, I start exploring. This might mean research, references, sketching, developing concepts, or simply thinking things through.
I’m interested in finding the right idea before worrying about the details — a clear visual direction that has character and makes sense for your business.

03 — Design & refine

This is where the ideas start taking shape. I develop the chosen direction and refine the details, keeping you involved throughout the process.

Whether it’s a brand identity, logo, infographic, website, or piece of print, I believe good design is often about editing — knowing what to keep, what to change, and what to leave out.

04 — Make it work

Good design needs to work beyond the presentation. It needs to be clear, practical, and adaptable in the real world.
I consider how the work will live across different formats and contexts, whether that’s print, digital, a website, social media, or the everyday applications of a brand.

05 — Done, but not complicated

Once everything is refined, you get the finished files, assets, and anything else you need to take the project forward.

The aim is to leave you with something distinctive, purposeful, and easy to use — without making the process feel complicated.

Good design, clear communication, no unnecessary drama.

Less noise. More meaning.
